You all are giving lekatt way too much credit here. He can’t even keep his own stories straight, he has no conception of what constitutes proof and he justifies his assertions through mystic obscurantism. i.e.
**
He has constantly used the excuse that you cannot understand his point of view unless you already believe in it. In this sense he offers no more validation of his beliefs than any other religious figure, spiritualist, or con artist. He insists that events that fall well within the realm of probability consititute proofs for his beliefs. i.e.

lekatt refuses to understand that no “connection to the spirit world” is necessary in order to provide what might seem to be “very accurate” information when the techniques of cold reading are employed. His reason? Because “only skeptics believe in cold reading” and because “they are only 2% of the world population” (cite?) must make it untrue. Sloppy.
You don’t have to “believe” in cold reading lekatt, but you do have to admit that it is impossible to differentiate what that woman did on Larry King from cold reading (I suggest you actually try to understand what that is). Cold reading isn’t about continously moving the goal posts so that no psychic can ever prove their powers, it’s about showing that you don’t need powers to convince someone that you are a psychic. You might be able to say the same thing, that we cannot tell that she wasn’t a psychic just because what she did looks like cold reading. But then Occam’s razor works against you, the burden of proof is yours.
Instead more obfuscation, more grand promises and more frustration that we are not a bunch of slack-jawed yahoos who have no idea of what constitutes a proof.
Sorry man, this can only go so far… you are obviously a flake. At this point we would need some “extraordinary evidence” to show otherwise. I know this is hard to accept for those of us here who would like to bring him out of fairy-tale make-believe land and into the rational universe but it isn’t going to happen.
No I don’t think John Edward is genuine. IIRC Lekatt said that Miss Cleo was a fraud and John Edward, Pragh (sp?) was not. I don’t know much about Pragh, but I’ve seen Edward work on television, that’s why I bring him up-I know who he is.
I think our government ran the tests, hoping to find something. Psychics, if they were real, would be an invaluable tool to our military.
“A victim to statistical success” is another way of saying “Lucky guesses”, but I’m not going to entirely write it off as such. I think that, perhaps, successful psychics have a really good ability to pick up on subconscious body movements and other clues that betray the “testers” feelings.
I actually have heard of Russia being more active in the psychic arena. Unfortunately I don’t know where I could find out more about that. IIRC the russians have colleges to improve ability.
The show was great BTW. They had a former “psychic” on, who admitted to cold reading (he even preformed it) and he admitted that psychic phenomenon doesn’t exist. Now his opinion on whether or not psychics exist is anecdotal, however he has clearly shown that cold reading does exist.
If they were performing a valuable service today, would our government tell the world about it?
Okay. That’s entirely possible, probably even likely. However our government’s remote viewing program was involved in gathering information about military sites halfway around the world. There are no body movement clues, or other clues, to rely on.
Lekatt, You have ignored several of my questions. No matter, apparently one million dollars is too trivial to even take a remote chance on winning, even repeating the simple stuff you do every day for your friends for free. (But think how much good you could do with that money – give it to your favorite charity, alleviate world hunger or endow a psychic Chair at the University!)
First read the left column (the unedited, unabridged, original King show transcript) alone. Then read the left & right columns alternately.
I find nothing mysterious about James’ wild guesses; most of them are either wrong, or general enough to often be right. Most of the facts are supplied by the caller. There’s nothing going on here except in the mind of the unknowledgable, gullible, or hopeful.
Penn and Teller are skeptics with no knowledge of spiritual things. Of course they will disagree, make fun, they are like saturday night live. A cartoon of spoofs.
Very funny, every psychic knows that money will never be given due to the unfair practices of Randi.
Maybe you could pick up the million offered to skeptics for debunking life after death. And then you could do something with it to help the world.
I never read your link, when I saw the word junk on it I knew it was nothing important. People don’t file good things under junk.
There is no cold readings, they are no cold readings, they are no cold readings, this exists only in the minds of the skeptics, how many readings have you had from James, one, none, none, how did I guess, by your lack of knowledge.
Go to my site and start reading, you are 30 years behind in your knowledge of near death experiences, now there are plenty of nde sites run by medical doctors, phds, etc. A wealth of evidence if you want to read about it.

[/quote Lekatt. your gullibility is astounding. You do not seem able to tell when you are being conned. There may or may not be genuine psychic ability, but when you defend out-and-out con men as being real psychics, you merely demonstrate the depth of your capacity to be tricked.
BTW, David Copperfield and David Blaine can’t do real magic, either.
Hey, I run into many religious programs that have former atheists on them confessing. You really believe that is significant to the skeptical arguments.
Man, the Van Praagh performance was even more abysmal than Althea’s. One whiff after another. How can you go wrong with guessing a “Joe” in the family and “a box, any kind of a box?” The bit about “seeing” that the mother took meds (what cancer patient doesn’t?) is such blatant cold reading that it’s really kind of insulting to the mark. I think PT Barnum underestimated the frequency with which suckers are born.
Really grasping at straws here, You know that’s not what happened. What happened was a straighforward reading that was accurate, quit trying to cover it up or whitewash it, it was real and those who saw it understood that. The skeptics didn’t because they were trying to second-guess it. Sorry it just doesn’t work that way.
