You will have to show that to me, I have read the thing several times without seeing what you see. I think you with misread.
You quoted me right, but didn’t understand what I said.
Why ask questions you already know the answer to? Waste of time.
Absolutely correct. No reputable scientific study has ever verified the existence of psychic ability. That doesn’t necessarily prove that psychic ability doesn’t exist; it certainly might. All it proves that psychic ability is not, so far as we can currently tell, scientifically verifiable.
There are all levels of skill in psychics. The ones being bashed in this thread read the deceased loves ones for those who still have issues with them. James and John provide closure for these people and help them get through the grief process. They are very good at it. It is a talent and service no one else can offer them. The show is full of love and caring, a great teaching platform for the emotions.
Other psychics read auras, latent energy, objects, connect with the guides of the person being read and convey information in that manner. Psychics seldom see visions, unless in their own personal pursuits. The future is mostly claimed by inexperienced or unskilled psychics. All trained psychics know future events can be and often are changed by the person’s free will.
Then there are psychics, intuitive psychics which teach emotions and feelings to help people overcome stress and anxiety. This is the field I like the best.
The knowledge base of psychially material is huge, but very interesting and fun to learn. The spirit world lies within you and the physical world lies without. Jesus said: “the Kingdom of God lies within you.” Jesus was the greatest of all psychics.

Woah!
Now that’s a new one on me.
I’m a witch–I cannot even begin to count the number of times that people of the Christian persuasion have come flaming at me with the opinion that anything even breating the same air as Wicca, Witchcraft, or the occult (psychic phenomena, divination, tarot, ouija, etc) is “of the devil”.
Do you have any biblical cites for this, or is that statement just another non-factual assumption/interpretation? Even if its just a personal interpretation, I’d love to hear from where you derived it. Grammar check, anyone? Anyone? Fry?
Peace,

Leroy -Do these psychics share a commonality-aside from their abilities? For example: If someone proved one type of psychic (scientifically), would that mean that the others were a given (IYO)?
Also:
What do you mean by that? If Jesus was God, and was omnipotent (which I’m assuming) then he wasn’t a psychic-at least not in the same sense that Praagh and Edward are.
Q.E.D.
He (he?) asked because you don’t seem to understand what he’s getting at, or at least you don’t want to understand.
It’s like this. You said nobody in your family had died of cancer. You then said you didn’t know much about your father’s side of the family, so you don’t really know that nobody in your family has died of cancer. You also said that you shouldn’t be expected to remember everybody who was ever related to you and what they died of (which is true) even though the same rule was being applied to you as Altea applied to one of the callers on the Larry King show. She said that if the caller asked her relatives her “psychic answer” would be proven right.
In other words the psychic didn’t limit her reading statements to what the caller might be reasonably expected of knowing, but extended them to cover knowledge the caller didn’t have and could only obtain by exploring further afield in her family, which is what you say she didn’t do! So, either you misread the transcript, forgot that part, simply chose to pretend it didn’t happen or have set yourself up as the arbitor of what is and is not acceptable proof of psychic ability, which you aren’t and never will be.
What you say about the psychic is untrue. If I don’t know them they are not in my family. How hard is that to understand.
The commonalities are a deep knowing of God and His love for all of us. And the desire to help others. I believe science has about all the info it needs to show proof of psychic ability.
As for Jesus, He was not God, and said so Himself. Too much distortion to go through here.
Quoting from the Bible does not make anything factual. Jesus healed the sick, taught about God, saw into the souls of men, saw into the spirit world and fortold coming events. He lived without condemning and helped everyone He could. The same as psychics do within the limits of their ability. Jesus commanded the force of love better because He understood it better than anyone.
Forgive those that attack you, they have not discovered their spiritual nature and do not know God.
Thank you very much for an accurate, honest statement.

I don’t know my great-grandfathers who died before I was born, but they are in my family. If not for them (among others ) I wouldn’t be here.
How hard is that to understand?
Now who’s calling somebody a liar?
I’m just very curious about this statement, Lekatt, are you purporting that all psychics and their motives are altruistic and are on the level of Jesus?
It’s all in the transcript, call four. I’ll even quote the relavant portion, for you:
So here we have someone who can’t find any connection, a clear “miss” by your example, and the psychic telling him he needs to check with his family, because it’s something that’s outside of his knowledge. Yet we’re unreasonable when we suggest the exact same thing. I’d really love to hear your reasoning as to why the psychic is reasonable as to doing this, and we are not…?
Before you start celebrating prematurely, all that says is that so far, psychic ability, wether true or false, does not seem to be verifiable. Further, it’s the same thing we’ve been saying for ten pages now.
Hey, that brings up another question… You always say psychic ability is not measureable in scientific terms. How exactly do you mean this? Because the only way I can see it possibly fitting is with a gross mis-understanding of science (Such as the results not having verifiable odds of success; Sorry, but if psychic abilities don’t have a verifiable reliability, and is based on pure chance, I don’t see much difference between that and guessing…)

Can I get a cite for this?

Carl Sagan said: “Being skeptical of everything because you are a skeptic is insanity.”
I’me skeptical that Carl Sagan ever said this. Got cite?

All hate groups have two things in common, they really don’t know anything about the people they are hating. They also are not aware that the hate destroys them, not the people they hate.I have experience unbelivable hate on this board from Skeptics. Everything I say is distorted, twisted, made fun of and even my knowledge of my own family was challenged. I have never been treated so badly in my life…
