Legally and administratively there are two unrelated ports: Port of Los Angeles - Wikipedia and Port of Long Beach - Wikipedia. But geographically they’re adjacent and share a common outer harbor. So they’re sort of functionally all one place commonly called “Port of Los Angeles / Long Beach”.
I was at a port on Thurs night/Fri morning. Even the stacks on the ground, away from the boat are massive. Row upon row of 'em 5 high x 9 wide x x deep, & every time the gantry crane started to move again there was an annoying beep-beep…& there wasn’t even a ship at the dock at 2am.
