I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of contemporary news reports of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech or the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28th 1963. I’ve done my best on googling for them, I fear that I may have to hie myself to the library and see if they have a physical copy of newspapers for that day.
Disclaimer: This is for a school project, I am not looking for someone to do my research for me just point me in the right direction.
methinks you are in for some work.
at the library.
i am taking a class with a very similar project and i have to come up with every available reference in print!
so, they gave me a hierarchy to check out
these are the ones i can remember (my notes are not with me, now) Reader’s Guide to Periodic Literature
New York Times Index
Christian Scientist Monitor
The Times (London) Index
The Economist Index
get a book about the speech/march/whatever and go to the bibliography and see what you can come up with.
I can’t remember any more right now. Your topic sounds like it will give you a bunch of research to do. good luck!
