Contest: Catch an actual live mouse!

Inspired by this thread, and because it’s mouse season, here’s your chance to prove to your fellows that yes, you can create a better mousetrap. Whether the world will beat a path to your door, I am unprepared at this point to say, but you will certainly be able to bask in the adulation of your fellow Dopers.

Rules are simple: 1. The mouse be trapped alive and unharmed; 2. You have to make your own trap; and 3. No pet mice may be used.

The first to post a picture of a live mouse in the trap will be the winner. Ready, set, go!

We have too many cats around for me to rescue a mouse by safely trapping it, but here’s some help:

How to trap a mouse, by Daniel Carter Beard, one of the founders of Boy Scouts.

I don’t have mice (knock on wood) but if I did I totally know what trap I would make. I have made it before and it worked like a charm.

But, all things considered I am glad I can’t enter this little contest.

I’m in. Mwhahahaha. It counts if their head is in a trap, but they are still squirming, right?

That might violate the “unharmed” clause, Rule 1, Subsection B.

:frowning: I’ve been trying these

for weeks and gotten nothing.

(for reasons explained here:

)

If I get one, I’ll let you know…

Would you settle for a baby kangaroo?

I have a glossy, richly-marbled mouse in my garage eating my bird food. When I catch it (which will be by cornering it myself in a crazy Vietnam veteran-movie kind of way), I will fling it outside to survive off the land. That, or one of the cats will catch it first.
