It does seem to have led to a certain amount of cheerleading from the more deplorable members of my family.
And to no one’s surprise, the officers involved in that beating have been sued in the past by other inmates they’ve beaten.
“But it was a judge’s weed whacker! Clearly an emergency!”
An investigation into the deadly collision found officer Dave should not face criminal charges.
Another case of, “We investigated ourselves, and found no wrongdoing.”
One of the complaints listed in the Declaration of Independence was that British soldiers accused of wrongfully killing colonials were exonerated pro forma:
For protecting them [troops], by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
Eight LA County sheriff’s deputies relieve of duty for covering up a fellow officer’s (also relieved of duty) beating of an innocent trans man. Not sure if they’ll end up employed elsewhere. From what I’ve read elsewhere, the LA County sheriff doesn’t have a great history.
In a better-late-than-never update to this story, the interim police chief has decided to fire him after all.
Stay tuned for three months from now when he gets hired as police chief of Hell’s Waiting Room, FL (birthplace of Matt Gaetz).
Eastern Washington should be close enough. You know; where Mark Fuhrman landed a gig on Spokane talk radio
You know, I don’t think Republic ever did hire a replacement for Loren Culp.
No, they surplussed the position, switching to relying solely on the Ferry County Sheriff for local LE.
And maybe have a beer afterwards with domestic terrorist Matt Shea.
Spokane is where actor Albert Salmi ended his marriage with a murder-suicide. It was late April, so he was probably at the point of will this fucking winter never end???
Well, April IS the cruelest month.
Cop watching porn on his cell phone rear ends someone stopped for a school bus. If there was ever a time to turn off your body cam, this was it.
Macomber racked up 3 policy violations – lying about the incident, using an electronic device for prohibited content, and evidence showing he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
I sincerely hope that, on top of the ‘policy violations’ he was issued some actual tickets as well.
Also, that newscaster, if I didn’t know better, I’d think it was Greg Proops.
Two cops show up to the scene of an apparent suicide, in the middle of a public park. Since their shift ends in a half hour, instead of dealing with it, they left, joked about it, and decided to drive around for a little while and come back later.
They didn’t even bother to try and locate the weapon. From what I can tell, it was ruled a suicide since the person has a history of suicidal ideations, but they never did find the gun. Was he shot? Did he shoot himself and collapse there? My WAG is that a random person saw him do it (or happened upon the scene) and took the gun before the cops showed up.
Oh, they found the gun all right. It will turn up at the scene of some incident in which a bad guy was shooting at the police so they had to kill him and, see? he had a gun!

Des Moines, Iowa
Video and audio recordings of the incident show that officers entered the home and announced their presence and the presence of a K-9 before searching for Mitchell. The K-9 located Mitchell in a closet, and Mitchell told officers he had a gun. The DMPD says the recordings show an officer ordering Mitchell to show his hands before Mitchell says he has a gun again. There is then “a loud noise and movement from within the closet that officers perceive as them being fired upon.” Both officers then fired their handguns.
No gun was found. Does any noise a suspect might make (banging against something for example) sound like a gun being fired?
