MOST outspoken? I dunno. Lots of people vying for that title.
Then why wouldn’t he admit having said that on…
Forget it, I’ve got places to go and chit to do!
Elitist: Someone who is perceived as thinking they are better than you.
Lefty: Someone who is perceived as thinking they are more moral than you.
Arugula Enemizer: Someone who enjoys arugula enemas.

OK, this seems like a pretty reasonable argument, though I don’t particularly want to read through that monster thread again, either, I’ll take a shot at it at some point.
Well you’ve always been amenable to reason even when goaded to limits of human endurance

No, that’s absolutely an abuse of power.
But if they wouldn’t leave you alone about making it a combo, then that’s acceptable, right?
Should at least get to pistol whip 'em for supersizing you.
Abuse of power? You mean its just flat out criminal, right?
You sure we don’t need to wait and see what the investigation reveals. Perhaps we are being too hasty.
OTOH, he got his order pretty quickly after he pulled out his gun, so there’s that.

A white Texas police officer was placed on restricted duty Thursday while an internal investigation looks into a videotaped incident showing the officer wrestling a black woman to the ground before arresting her and her two teenage daughters.
The Fort Worth officer, whose name hasn’t been released, responded to a call for service after Jacqueline Craig argued with a man who she said had physically confronted her 7-year-old son for littering. In the cellphone video of the Wednesday incident, Craig can be heard telling the officer that the man had “grabbed and choked” her son.
The officer engages Craig in a conversation that quickly escalates. He asks why she hadn’t taught her son not to litter. Craig says regardless of whether the boy littered, the man did not have the right to “put his hands on him.” The officer says, “Why not?”

No report was filed or charges brought against the man who assaulted the 7 year old boy.
Oh, and the officer was given two days to [del]concoct an exculpatory story[/del]file a report.
Texas ACLU Executive Director Terri Burke:
This incident and countless others like them demonstrate that for people of color, showing anything less than absolute deference to police officers — regardless of the circumstances — can have unjust and often tragic consequences. This fundamental injustice is also a threat to public safety. If a Black woman in Fort Worth can’t call the cops after her son is allegedly choked by a neighbor without getting arrested, why would she ever call the cops again?
Why indeed? If the social contract isn’t going to be honored by the people we pay to honor it, our society may not last much longer.

…the video shows the mum getting increasingly agitated with the officer, and the daughter walks over to calm her mum down and to push her away from the officer. The officer responds to this by grabbing the daughter and wrestling the daughter away: the daughter’s back is to the officer for gods sakes. She posed zero threat.

This sounds pretty egregious. I can’t find the link to the video.
The video was Facebook Live broadcast.
NFSW due to language.
Someday a police officer like this is going to find themselves overwhelmed and take a baseball bat to the back of the head or just get executed by a bystander. At that point, I think our society is done. A new one will arise from the ashes, I’m sure, but that will be one of the things that marks the end of our current society.

To be honest, I would have some difficulty in not getting involved if I were to be around to witness something like that.
Not saying I would assault the police, but I would certainly be videoing, and explaining to the cop just how wrong his actions are.
In that situation, I may even find myself physically inserting myself into the situation (peacefully, but not necessarily legally), and see how well that goes down.
People may not care about these black people in the projects, but if I get a beat down from the police, you better believe that the local police line (and town/city council) is gonna be lit up with some pretty angry calls from some pretty important people in their community.
Is that the sort of thing that it is going to take? “Upstanding”, “pillar of the community” types getting directly involved in altercations with the police? If so, well, my slow season is coming up.

Hypothetical: Suppose the Texas officer’s kid is caught littering and receives a “Homer Simpson special” by a white guy. Does the officer respond by lecturing to his kid how important it is not to litter and take no action against the Texan strangler? (I exclude the black man from this scenario because…well, let’s not kid ourselves what the outcome of that would be…).

Members of a New York City family say police raided their apartment by mistake and posted a photo on social media with the caption “Merry Christmas Its NYPD.”
WABC-TV reports (Family: NYPD raids wrong Brooklyn home, posts Snapchat of them in cuffs - ABC7 New York ) that the police warrant squad showed up at a Brooklyn apartment Thursday morning and put handcuffs on everyone there.
Apartment resident Kimberly Santiago says the officers were looking for someone who doesn’t live there and whom she doesn’t know. She says the officers left after three hours.
But she says the officers posted two photos of the botched raid on Snapchat. The second photo was captioned “warrant sweeps.”
A police spokeswoman says the department’s internal affairs bureau is investigating the incident.
