Controversial encounters between law-enforcement and civilians - the omnibus thread

We were talking about DC, remember?

Show me a similar cite for DC and I might click on it.

That makes two of us.

Wait, that’s not even in this fucking thread. You saying that SteveG1 is busting my chops over something someone said in a thread I don’t participate in? Wow!

We’re limiting the discussion to only your hypothetical?

You still lose.

FYR, “Bulletproof Warrior” has been discontinued. It is now called “Interaction & Influence”.

So it’s the same people “teaching” the same thing, but with a different name attached to it.

Did we miss this one from Virginia? It’s in the news right now because of the release of the dashcam video.

I came here to post this one. In my opinion, the video looked more like an execution with 4 shots to the head than police trying to protect themselves, but I am sure they will get off without charges filed.

I expect the cops to say they were protecting themselves from a deadly weapon (the car), but the video clearly shows that wasn’t the case. Sure, the bozo didn’t pull over and stop, but that doesn’t mean the cops should act as judge, jury and executioner on the spot.

Eyes closed?

FBI agent shoots the abducted instead of the kidnappers in Clothahump’s hometown.
And the victim was bound at the time :smack:

It looked like he was struggling with the ropes to reach for a gun?

Alternately-The victim had a crazed look in his eyes, and the Fibbie thought he was high on Angel Dust?

Alternatively #2- What do they call the FBI agent who graduates last in his class?

An FBI Agent.

If you kill the hostage, then the hostage takers no longer have any leverage, so you can take them without any further violence.

I guess he saw SPEED one too many times.

Note that in this case, the agents knew that the hostage was male and that the only other adult present, the woman “guarding” him, was female. So going in they knew “Man=do not shoot.”

How do you expect them to tell the gender of a person when they are tied up?

Offer them a refreshing soft drink. When they finish, grab the can and get it to the lab for prints and DNA. I’ve seen this in various documentaries.
