I’ll defend his, or anybody’s, right to discuss theories and opinions without people trying to shut that discussion down by crying “RACIST!!!” rather than actually refuting the argument. It doesn’t matter whether or not he’s racist, that doesn’t affect the argument being made. That’s either true or false (probably false). Focus on that, unless you’ve got any actual reason to think he’s racist. I’ve asked you to link ton posts with actual racist content, and you have (unsurprisingly) failed. Probably because it only exists in your head, and (fortunately) it’s not possible to hyperlink there.

We were talking about whether people are racist, not statements, and that’s a fundamental difference in my opinion. If the scientist finds proof of that statement, then they are not racist to point it out, because it’s true. And the race of the scientist is irrelevant.

Fundamentally, what matters is whether a statement is true or false. Whether different groups have different genetic predispositions to intelligence, and whether those groups correlate with race, are (theoretically) testable propositions.

Statements, ultimately, are neither racist nor non-racist, because racism is a property of behaviour (and by extension, the people behaving). So, what you need to judge is whether the utterance of the statement is racist behaviour. And this is where the difference between the guy in the sheet and the scientist comes in. One is uttering a statement the have no reason to believe is true, for the purpose of white supremacy. The other is uttering a statement he reasonably believes to be true, for the purpose of scientific advancement. A term that includes both types of speech, and denigrates both of them equally, is so broad as to be meaningless, in my opinion.

Which is a very longwinded way to say “no, they’re not”.

Totally disagree – statements can absolutely be judged as racist or not, regardless of the speaker. “blacks are inferior” is always racist, no matter why it’s asserted.

Considering there’s a current active IMHO thread where people are proudly proclaiming they would dump a girlfriend if they found out that she’d been with a Black guy sometime in the distant past, I can only imagine that Steophan has some kind of selective dyslexia that leaves him incapable of actually seeing racist posts.

It seems to be coupled with a synesthesia where he sees anti-White racism where none exists. This would explain his inability to later find anything to link to, even when he swears it existed. Well, that or he’s a liar.

Racism would saying that, because of that average (whether it’s true or not) I’m going to assume any given black person is unintelligent. Because the latter is prejudice, whereas making a judgement based on facts - such as, what the average intelligence is - is necessarily postjudice. And so, by definition, not prejudiced.

Now, if anyone wants to argue that continually repeating a discredited theory about race is racist, that’s a different matter. But that’s not what’s been said, what’s been said is that the theory itself is racist. Which is absurd.

The “theory” is itself racist.

Is the assertion “Jews are inherently more greedy and less trustworthy, on average, due to genetics” racist/bigoted? Or “black people are, on average, morally incapable of interacting respectfully with others, due to genetics”? If these are indeed racist, why would an assertion about black people and lower intelligence not be racist?

And if those assertions are not racist, then it sets the bar so high that even 19th century supporters of slavery don’t count as having made racist assertions.
