I saw nothing on that video that would make me think the kid was a threat of any kind. This was confirmed by that fact that the guard was able to throw him around like a rag doll.
What? He mouthed off? People with mental health issues tend to do that. It’s like they are mentally ill!
This remark is reminiscent of that recent case where the school cop, escorting a kid in a hallway, suddenly and for no obvious reason picked the kid up and body-slammed him, twice.
Did we ever see a follow-up on that story? WTF was that all about?
“I noticed a glint of light coming off a metallic object hidden behind the back of the suspect. I immediately feared for my life thinking the suspect had snuck a weapon into my patrol car. So I had to fire until the threat was eliminated, just like I was trained.”
A recent paper “Does Race Matter for Police Use of Force?”
Some interesting findings: "Perhaps most strikingly, we show that while white and black officers use gun force at similar rates in white and racially mixed neighborhoods, white officers are five times as likely to use gun force in predominantly black neighborhoods.”
It wasn’t. Of course it wasn’t. But it was also against department policy, so the resource officer was fired almost immediately (he’d also arrested an 8-year-old that week).
Holy shit. My god. What the fuck is wrong with those guys. That poor little girl – she wasn’t violent, she wasn’t doing anything but pleading to go back to school. “Please give me a second chance!” How could they do this? Seriously, how?
I saw that yesterday and it literally made me tear up. I guess I’m a sucker for little girls. I wish there was some sort of context. I mean, not that there’s any excuse for cuffing and stuffing a six-year old but the ‘second chance’ plea sound like she had to have done something – just call her parents to pick her up.
According to the article posted above, she had a meltdown and kicked a couple of teachers. Oh, the humanity!!! A six year old kicked a teacher!!! I’m surprised they didn’t call the National Guard, or a SWAT team at least. <Hut hut hut hut>
That article also describes what a shit stain this particular cop was.
Years ago when my girlfriend and I were at her mother’s for Thanksgiving the GF told about how when she was in kindergarten there was a tricycle on the playground for the kids to use. She wanted to ride it but the other kids wouldn’t let her so she waited until the bell rang and started riding it around the now empty playground.
A teacher came out and said she had to go in now. “No! I haven’t had my turn!” A couple more cycles of this so the teacher pulled her off the trike by the arm and she, in turn, kicked the teacher’s ankle.
She was frog-marched to the principal’s office, her mother called, and she was expelled from the school. The whole time she was relating this her mother had this most astonished look on her face then said, “For years I wondered what you’d done to warrant getting expelled from kindergarten.” Apparently when she arrived, the principal wasn’t talking, the teacher wasn’t talking, and the kid couldn’t explain things either.
GF shrugged. “No big deal; I just wanted my turn on the tricycle.”
Orange County (CA) Sheriff’s Department has a history of widespread evidence mishandling, including evidence being booked weeks or months after records state, evidence being not booked at all, deputies falsifying records, and prosecutors failing to disclose deputy misconduct to defense attorneys. Potentially thousands of convictions are affected. A sample found evidence handled “out of policy” in 30% of cases. One deputy followed correct evidence handling procedures in exactly 0 of the 74 cases he managed in the review period.
The DA has declined to prosecute any of the deputies who presented misleading evidence.
Chicago Code Blue is a group of cops who post trash on both Twitter and Facebook. Their Twitter account is protected, but their Facebook page is open.
They just posted a picture of Chicago cops arresting Bernie Sanders in 1963, with the caption “CPD…taking out COMMIE TRASH since 1963”. After much protest, they removed the caption, but whined
