Conversion from Wordperfect to Word, help ahh!

Hello eversointelligent fellow Dopers,

I am in a huge bind here at work. I have about 3,500 documents that have to be converted from Wordperfect 7.0 (I am pretty sure it is 7.0) to a Microsoft Word format. When I open them up in Word, they tend not to convert properly. For example: pages missing, formatting words on top of words, tables missing…
Please tell me that there is some better way of doing this. I have tried to convert the Wordimperfect files to Acrobat files, but those don’t really convert over to Word properly either.

This project was just thrown at us from nowhere and it is already past deadline. Help! :eek:

It is Wordperfect 9. But MS Word is trying to open it as a Wordperfect 7. Does this make a difference?

Open them in WordPerfect and use “Save As” to save them as Word documents (.doc). WP generally does a better job of preserving format, etc. into other formats than the other way around.
