Video is about three minutes but it is all action, no build up. I don’t know how famous this guy is but he has a fair Youtube following doing stuff like this. Starts with a basketball, ends with a basketball and in between are ropes, marbles, skateboards, string, rocks… you get the idea.
I’m guessing that means he can go back later and edit the view so it looks like he had the camera pointed at the right place all the time even though the raw footage was probably shaky and not centered on the right place.
I’m wondering where he lives and what the climate is like. From the trees and greenery it looks like a place that gets rain every couple of days.
And rain is usually accompnied by wind.
Yeah, I was more impressed with the shooting than the goldberg device. Even with 360 shots, that would have required a lot of rehearsals (and sheer luck) to shoot that video. Super impressive what the camera person was doing, however it was done.
I haven’t had a chance to look at the video yet. I just wanted to compliment you on your considerate and useful post. It has a nice summary of the video you are linking to, as well as the running time.
IMO, this is what SDMB posts linking to videos should look like. ESPECIALLY if it’s the OP. Thanks.
I wondered why the camera was less shaky than I thought it would be. It also explains why the further away the shot was, the less the quality. ( I’m talking about when the ball is on the orange track around the pond) The GoPro is great at close range but loses detail quickly, which is a feature, not a bug for what it’s used for.
How’d you like to get 90% thru the course when the wind blows a marble off a table and ruins the whole thing?
I pretty much agree with what you’ve posted about this in the past. I hate clicking on a link and getting a 20 minute video that was hidden by a tinyurl link. .
Absolutely! Left on my own I would never do something like this so it’s great people enjoy putting the time in. And I’m not claiming I’m not nuts, just not this kind of nuts.
