COPS (The TV Show) and shirtless males

It appears to me that a preponderance of US males just go out walking and driving around in public with no shirt on.

Listen, it get’s hot here in Canada too in the summer, but no one actually goes out in public without a shirt on. Sure, at beaches, or pool parties or maybe working on the lawn some day, but not in public!

How common is this? I’ve never seen someone just driving around or walking around in public without a shirt.

Confirmation bias from COPS?

I’m all in favor of men showing as much skin as possible.

Ok, SOME men.

I can’t say I’ve *never *seen it, but it’s extremely rare in my experience.

Agreed; some men. Have you ever heard the term “Beijing bikini”? I’m in Beijing and it’s a rather prevalent phenomenon that sends people looking for spoons, or any other implement really, to gouge out their eyes.

Left out a link: Beijing bikini.

You have to remember that this is a pretty tiny subset of the US population. They both got the police called on them AND had such loose concern about social codes that they agreed to allow that incident to be broadcast. The middle class domestic involving two educated professionals still in business attire… doesn’t make the air.

Ahhhh, I hate to use a trope, but linky no worky.

Just checked it. Works for me (admittedly, I had to run it through a VPN, though).

Here’s the link:

I didn’t wait for the link and googled it.

Oh, my!

Which is not to say I haven’t seen all sorts of things here in the US, too.

I’m not sure if she means Anthony, Chad, Flea, John, or Josh…

She?

I live in the South, I see it all the time.

Are you kidding? I see this so often I have a word for it, “paso.” Pronounced like “peso.” It’s an acronym for “Put A Shirt On!”

Some guy started a very similar thread last November.

Seriously? I don’t see it at all here.

And now I’m totally embarrassed that I didn’t remember my last thread.
:o
ETA: Shucks. Never mind then.

I was taught that Canadian miscreants never went shirtless because they all look like this

In my area, it’s very common for guys to walk around without a shirt on (sometimes tucked into a back pocket) in the…less savory parts of town. In the classier parts, it’s a virtually unknown phenomenon, with the exception as noted above, of being in a pool, or other expected situation.

So in my experience, it’s a class/socieoeconomic distinction.

Never mind shirtless…I’ve seen episodes where the guys were fleeing while naked.

One memorable guy was almost naked…but took time to put on running shoes
