Okay, I used the “search” thing first and found nothing. How do you copy and paste things? All the time, I see where people have put whole paragraphs or articles from another website in a thread. How does one use this mystical power? Tell me, please. If this has been covered in a previous thread (and it just didn’t come up in the search), please throw a link my way. Thank you
Standard shortcuts.
Copy is ctrl-c, paste is ctrl-v. If you are on a Mac, I believe the standard is open apple-c, open apple - p. Mac users please correct me.
It is 2 am-ish. So
Just in case you wanted to copy from a web site to here.
And there is some kind of a FAQ (top of the board? bottom?) that will take you to a UBB code page so you can copy images.
I haven’t copied an image into one of these threads - I think it can’t be done. You have to set your image up on a web page and then bring it here with UBB code.
Trouts1 gave a good explanation of this - I’ll add it on if I can find it again.

The way to create this C&P is to simply click the “Reply w/Quote” icon at the top of each message. (The icon of a document with an arrow pointing right.)
When the next window pops up, it includes the entire previous message inside UBB codes for quoting and bolding. That text can be edited. (I changed the bolding to italics just to see how it would work. I also inserted the spurious word silly (bolded) into the text, just to see how that would come out.) Obviously, it can be subjected to (fairly easily detected) abuse, but it is a quick way to grap C&P from an earlier post in the same thread.
Tom~
Verrrrry interreshting! When I clicked “Reply w/Quote” on my own previous post, the section copied from Jeannie was missing and only the text I had typed was available for editing.
Just to see what happens, I will now try the same thing with some UBB in this post.
BOLD ITALIC and two links: Google Search or http://www.google.com/
Then try “Repy w/Quote” on this post.
Tom~
The original UBB code appears (expanded) in the “quoted” section. Now we’ll see how it posts.
So the imbedded italics and links continued to work. My imbedded bold became superflous and was displayed as text. My imbedded “bold off” turned off the automatic bolding, while the automatic “bold off” became superfluous and was displayed as text.
This is beginning to remind me of genetics.
