I was thinking of opening a thread in Cafe Society that would involve a heavy amount of quotes from LOTR. I decided to hold off and see if what I was posting was violating any copyright practices there are here. I was hoping to discuss the forshadowing of the books, and would be using numerous, potentially lengthy quotes to demonstrate such forshadowing. Would that be allowed, or is it too much of the work being quoted to be safely within copyright restrictions? (Ideally, the quotes in question would be roughly the length of my sig, and there would hopefully be sufficient notations as to where in each book the quote was found.)
