Coral Castle

So, what is the straight dope on Coral Castle?

How did this one man move huge blocks of coral rock, without assistance or the use of modern machinery?

Ed Leedskalnin says he did it by his unique understanding of magnetic current.

Some say he “learned the secret of the ‘world grid,’ an invisible pattern of energy lines surrounding the Earth which concentrates points of telluric power where they intersect. It was here, at one of these intersections of Earth energy, that he was supposedly able to move his prodigious stone blocks using the unseen power of our planet.”.

Other wacky theories are out there.

Nah, it can’t be. It’s gotta be levers and pulleys, right?

Hey, welcome to the Dope.

You might get a better answer to this question if you email a mod and ask for it to be moved to General Questions (GQ)…

Thanks Lambchop

I guess Coral Castle is not considered a long-running debate, full of great questions!?

Coral Castle’s a popular subject here at the SDMB. Here’s several earlier threads on it:

Theories on Coral Castle? AMAZING

Questions that might have factual answers, no matter how great, usually go in GQ. This is more like an area for arguments on politics and current affairs, where there’s no real answer, just opinions.

Folks, not trying to junior mod here, the guy asked me a question…

Moving this from Great Debates to General Questions.

Look at the two pictures on the bottom left of the page. Three poles arranged in a tripod, and some block and tackle.

No magnets necessary.
