Wow, blast from the past. This brings me all the way back to high school history class doing current events about Aquino vs. Ferdinand Marcos. Our class followed that story pretty closely.
She was an amazing woman.

She’s one of the few foreign leaders from the past whose name I recognize and fondly remember. The lawyers I worked for in Seattle helped with a lawsuit against Ferdinand Marcos, for the cannery union murders. I didn’t play close attention to her tenure, but apparently she did a great job cleaning up a huge mess.
Wow. That’s a shocker. …it also makes me feel old. I don’t know how utlimately successful Cory was in cleaning up the mess Ferdinand made of things, but I believe she honestly tried. Maraming salamat po, indeed.
