Ok, I lost the instructions.
I know that the Teeming Millions just must know…
The phone is a GE model 26700GE1-B. I’m trying to figure out how to program numbers into the memory. The GE website offers nothing I can find that is in the slightest bit usefull.
This phone has no “program” button, like my other cordless.
I’m lost…
Like, in addition to the dialing buttons, what other buttons are on the phone? Is there a “mem” button?
On phones without a “program” button, you usually hit the “mem” button.
Like…press “mem”, “1” -enter full number to be comitted to memory - “mem”…press “mem”, “2”, -entersecond number, etc.
You usually have to hit some type of function key to tell the phone that you are going to enter a number to memory, rather than dialing it. So, the first step or two should involve some process to commit a number to a certain memory and code, then the dialed number can be entered.
You can also store numbers in memory, and they are fairly easily programmed in. You need to be sure your phone off, hit the mem button, and dial the number and press the mem button again. You will then choose any number between 0 and 9 where you want the number stored. Therefore, you can store up to 10 important phone numbers on your handset!
No real help, but when I wanted to find out how to access my answering machine remotely I typed the brand and model number into google. It found a pdf file for the user’s manual! I had thrown out the original, so I just skimmed the file for what I wanted to know, and printed out the relevant portion.
God I love the internet.
Of course, if you have the user’s manual and still can’t figure it out… well, good luck!
All right Mr. Philster Smarty Pants!
I bow before your superior website search techniques.
(and it worked, besides!)
OK, move along,
nothing more to see here…
