Our white kitchen sink is white Corian, 15 years old. Recently it has gotten very hard to clean. Stains seem to sink in and then it takes extensive scrubbing to remove them. I assume that minute scratches have accumulated over time and cause this. Can I fix it? I was thinking of wet sanding it with very fine sandpaper. Will this repair the damage? Should I hire a professional Corian repair person? Should I just replace the sink?
Yes Corian is a solid product all the way through. You can simply sand it down till it looks good again. It is a lot of work to do by hand however, it doesn’t sand quickly. Most professionals use powered sanders for resurfacing.
Here is Dupont’s care page
I have a corian sink and countertops. I use this: http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Mesh-Corian-Countertop-Repair-Kit/dp/B0033REUBC/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1287295826&sr=8-9
It works well.
