Coronation Watch-Along Thread

Funny, spell-checker didn’t catch it. Well, I am from the ba’brous colonies. Blame Noah Webster for that one.

Well, this is the multicultural Dope!

I thought the disrobing was so he didn’t get oil on the pretty clothes.

And now everyone leaves in a big conga line.

Then the really uncomfortable Coronation Coach

Yeah, that bit they could have kept, it would have interfered with nothing and been good visuals and good business for the dry cleaners.

OTOH the magical bracelets and Holy Dressing Room sort of things can be dispensed with. Annoint on the forehead, switch one robe for another, plonk crown on.

I find it odd that Kate and Charlotte both have tiaras, but the actual future kings, William and George have no special headwear. Not that William lacks for regalia. But his head is nekkid.

I did like the blue in the manes of the horses this morning. They were very pretty horses.

Indeed. The one they rode to the party had air conditioning!

Not needed today

No coronets at this coronation. Sad.

William may have the garter hat on outside…

With apologies to Steve Martin:

When he was a young man
He never thought he’d see
The day his mom would die
So HE could be the king

King Chuck - headin’ to the palace
King Chuck - not feelin’ any malice
Ridin’ in a carriage (don’t talk about his marriage)
King Chuck!

Add verses as you see fit.

Chuck got a crown when he was invested as Prince of Wales, but I doubt Wills will be getting that level of ceremony.

You cannot fault the music. It really has been amazing.

That is something at which Charles excels. He has a good feel for what music fits.

It astonishes me that they could build such a place 7/800 years ago. No America then

I’ve been out for a bike ride this morning so I’ve not been paying attention but I’ve just caught this bit and I have to agree. The quality of the choir and orchestra is superb (unsurprising I guess) and the music choice is somewhat epic in scale.
My first comment to my wife…
“they aren’t holding back on this one are they?”

Is it a “bevy” of bishops?

Which is the right etiquette for him at High Church.
