I have a major crush on Cory Booker. I was following his twitter feed during the storm just to see what he was doing – sure enough, he was answering individual constituents’ questions, making phone calls to emergency services, visiting people to make sure they were O.K., bringing diapers to someone with an infant, etc.
My favorite part was when he spotted a fire and rushed over to put it out, only to find that it was someone who was using his barbeque pit to cook dinner. I guess every superhero can have an off moment.
Outside of hardcore and rabid Devils fans, I doubt you’d find many people who would fault Booker for holding a pro-team owner to the commitments they made in order to build an arena with the help of public funds and concessions.
You luuuurrrrrvv him. You want to have all his baaaaayybies.
Yeah, so do I, so what?
The thing that strikes me about him is that for someone so young, he has such personal control. His words and actions are typically measured and genuine. I’m sure he has an emotional side but I haven’t seen it manifested in rude comments or baseless name-calling, unlike some other public officials who are his senior in age and experience. I shan’t name names!
He seems to feel the eyes that are on him have value and an opinion he should care about rather than be ‘above’. I wish I could send him some rest, he looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks.
As a registered republican I hope Booker runs and kicks Christie’s ass. I hate him with the heat of a thousand suns. I saw Booker speak at a couple events when my guard unit was deploying and coming back. He is an amazing off the cuff public speaker. Much better than Obama. The man oozes charisma in person. He just needs to get out of the cesspool of Newark politics without being covered in shit.
