Cory Booker strikes again!

When he’s not saving people from burning buildings or otherwise being generally awesome, he’s going on Twitter to invite people who don’t have power over to his house, then buying them all a delicious lunch.

Is there a more awesome mayor anywhere? Seriously, this guy is pure unadulterated badass. And that lunch looks yummy.

Makes me almost wish I lived in Newark. Almost.

Ha, just what I was going to say.

This man needs to run against Chris Christie for governor of NJ, and then after a couple terms, run for president.

Sorry, Newark, but you can’t hog all the awesomeness of Cory Booker! It’s not fair to the rest of us!

If they tried to base a TV show (scripted, not reality) about Mayor Booker, it would be rejected as unbelievable. “Nobody could be that awesome.”

I have a major crush on Cory Booker. I was following his twitter feed during the storm just to see what he was doing – sure enough, he was answering individual constituents’ questions, making phone calls to emergency services, visiting people to make sure they were O.K., bringing diapers to someone with an infant, etc.

My favorite part was when he spotted a fire and rushed over to put it out, only to find that it was someone who was using his barbeque pit to cook dinner. I guess every superhero can have an off moment.

Booker 2016. In a heartbeat.

I’m not from U.S.A. but I am a Devils fan.

The one website I frequented until mid-June was rife with hockey fans who didn’t much care for Booker.

Apparently, awesome though he may be, he is not necessarily universally revered.

Outside of hardcore and rabid Devils fans, I doubt you’d find many people who would fault Booker for holding a pro-team owner to the commitments they made in order to build an arena with the help of public funds and concessions.

Fair enough.

Just relating my own insignificant and admittedly limited exposure to Booker opinion.

He really does seem like a pretty stand up guy! Lucky Newark!

I was actually very disappointed by Booker’s performance during Sandy. I had been expecting him to refuse to allow Sandy to make landfall entirely.

You luuuurrrrrvv him. You want to have all his baaaaayybies.

Yeah, so do I, so what?

The thing that strikes me about him is that for someone so young, he has such personal control. His words and actions are typically measured and genuine. I’m sure he has an emotional side but I haven’t seen it manifested in rude comments or baseless name-calling, unlike some other public officials who are his senior in age and experience. I shan’t name names!
He seems to feel the eyes that are on him have value and an opinion he should care about rather than be ‘above’. I wish I could send him some rest, he looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks.

Sees Hillary lose in 2016, runs in 2020, wins.

(By the way, he’s not gay, is he? Or is he?)

It really isn’t fair that such a shitty town gets the most ass kickingest mayor there ever was.

On the other hand who needs it more.

No, he’s straight.

As a registered republican I hope Booker runs and kicks Christie’s ass. I hate him with the heat of a thousand suns. I saw Booker speak at a couple events when my guard unit was deploying and coming back. He is an amazing off the cuff public speaker. Much better than Obama. The man oozes charisma in person. He just needs to get out of the cesspool of Newark politics without being covered in shit.

Out of curiosity, why do you dislike Christie so much?

Thought you all might get a giggle out of Mayor Booker’s tweet here.
