I note that the cost of internet connecting (at least with my company) changes r/t how fast the connection is and how many devices are hooked in. I’m curious as to how much cost there is on the provider’s side with these factors & whether they accurately reflect the cost to consumer. thx
It shouldn’t matter how many “devices” are hooked up, unless you are talking about something unusual, but I suppose any provider can make up whatever rules they want.
Bandwidth does on the other hand have a direct cost. The provider has a certain amount of bandwidth they pay for, and have to split that up among their customers. Then there is the cost of the actual infrastructure. High speed routers are not at all inexpensive, nor is the cabling, or the equipment provided to the customer.
thx
