South Austin is Bubbaville, as sure as John Kelso said it! I’m in Zilker though, not Travis Heights. The house is one of the little stucco houses with casement windows that you see all over town, and I bought it for $56,500, which tells you a little about how long I’ve lived in it.
I drive down Woodland to go to work (FWIW, I’ve been here since '86 and I almost called it Woodward.) Are you talking about the tiny house with the big garage/upstairs deck?
Yeah, wasn’t sure if there are other parts of the country that consider themselves Bubbaville as well.
The whole Woodland/Woodward thing confuses me since they’re so close together. And I even used to work at Oltorf and 35 so I should know 'em better.
I hadn’t noticed if the house is tiny but it’s stucco and a kinda mango wash with hot pink and green trim. I love the color scheme and it was my inspiration although I decided to make the pink the main color. That house sold a few years back and Green Mango had a bunch o’pics on their website, the inside was just a cool (lots of neat mexican tile).
Under $60k for Zilker? Wow. I’m not even gonna mention what I paid for my tiny house here in East Austin (the whole East Austin phobia has finally dissipated and real estate is booming). On Craig’s List, there’s a 500 square foot house going for $250k (it’s in Travis Heights too but geez…)
