wolf_meister I looked at your site and have a question, where do you prove that grey b = black b and grey a = black a ?
ie that the four triangles surrounding the blue square are identical? Obviously they are as can be shown by summing the angles to 180 at each line and showing the triangles are all equi-angular and all have the same hypotinuse length and are therefore all identical. But you seem to be not giving that proof.
I’ll take your word for it. It sure didn’t seem so at the time (well, that’s the definition of “whoosh”, isn’t it?) and I’m not sure I see it now. But I would rather believe that than falsely ascribe base motives to a fellow Doper.
Therefore, I apologize if Derleth was offended. 
There is a fine line between ‘Derleth being facetious’ and ‘Derleth being wrong.’ I don’t think I crossed it in this thread, but my post was a bit… obscure.
My reasoning went like this: He’s already emailed to no avail. Emails are pretty much worthless when it comes to making a statement anyway. Dropping money on postage might convince them that he isn’t going away, and that he knows where they live. My ‘for extra credit’ jape was, in this situation, the nuclear option: Retaining the services of a lawyer, who would then be obliged to notify them of that fact using his own stationary bearing his official legal office letterhead. People shit their pants when they receive letters bearing official legal office letterhead, especially if they already have a brain down there taking up space.
It was my reminder that wolf_meister could have gone all the way on this, and that he’d have had a good chance of winning. (All victories subject to legal fees and any relevant taxes. Wringing damages out of some people is an exercise in trying to get blood from a rhinestone necklace. Void where cooler heads prevail.)
