But whenever he nuzzles me near the neck, shoulder, etc., I end up with hives and horrible itching.
A. Doesn’t seem to matter if he’s clean shaven, scruffy or sportin’ a Grizzly Adams beard.
B. Doesn’t happen with other guys.
C. He and I use the same shampoo, soap, etc. I use the same shaving cream he does on my legs.
Could I be allergic to him? If so, what on earth can I do about it? Are there allergy shots for this sort of thing?
(I also have absolutely no idea where to post this. Maybe it would be GQ friendlier to ask: Can humans have allergies to other humans?
Mods, move it at will.)
My husband and I are in an open marriage (not that it’s relevant to the OP). I merely mentioned it because it’s not a simple reaction to coarse male facial hair.
Beng allergic to another human’s sweat and sperm is very rare, but not unheard of, but in that case the sufferer was allergic to all men’s sweat, including her sons. I would tend to guess he’s being exposed to something that you haven’t thought of. Aftershave, cologne, possibly other women’s perfume, makeup or body oils being transferred to his skin to yours.
See if it happens after you both get out of the shower, without putting on any body scents of other things.
