Could RFK Jr. Really Become HHS Secretary? {Yes, he did}

Gingrichitis is an even worse soul-killer.

I saw a nice take-off on Trump press secretary and chief ass-kisser Karoline Leavitt’s excuse for the phony literature citations in the MAHA report. She said she understood there had been a “formatting” problem. The cartoon posted on Twitter shows Clippy the Microsoft Word assistant saying “I notice you’re writing a report. Would you like me to invent some journal articles to use as references?”

*alternate Clippy:

Supposedly because so many of these members have conflicts of interest.

I wonder if the new members will all be anti-vaccine quacks.

I don’t wonder about that.

Judging by Junior’s selection of pretend doctor and virulent antivaxer David Geier to lead a vaccine-autism study, yes - all the new ACIP members will be antivaccine cranks, frauds and grifters.

Sherri Tenpenny (“Vaccines Done Magnetize You”), Russell Blaylock, Brian Hooker, James Lyons-Weiler, Thomas Cowan, Paul Thomas and a parade of similar embarrassments to medicine and science are probably drooling at the opportunity to sabotage vaccine schedules and bring disease and death to the vulnerable, especially the young, immunosuppressed and aging.

Key qualifications for new ACIP candidates: having lost your medical license, had one or more published journal articles retracted for bad science, fraud and/or undisclosed conflicts of interest, and profitable supplement-selling sidelines.

It’s not hyperbole - this administration really is out to kill many of us.

Did you really believe, when you wrote this, that Trump’s senate was going to do the right thing?

They had limits. They weren’t going to do everything Trump asked of them, and didn’t. Otherwise we’d have AG Matt Gaetz instead of Pam Bondi.

What was unknown was where that limit was. It didn’t go very far, clearly.

According to a talking-head on the news, the current members had to submit financial disclosures and such that would show any conflicts of interest. I doubt this will be the case for RFK, Jr.'s picks. Peddling antivax “cures” is probably a qualification.

I hear some of the leading candidates are Drs. Mal Practiss, Hugh Quackman, and IM Fraud.

No worries, even though RFK Jr. is busily trying to sabotage immunization, he could be America’s Health Savior through promotion of industrial bleach.

Drink bleach, bathe in it…it’ll cure what ails you.

Yeah, do all that. I have it on good authority (nutjob) that we’re all going to die anyway.

Do it for SCIENCE!

One way or another, yeh.

And if it makes you sick as hell, that’s just your body detoxifying.

I don’t know about anyone else here, but I certainly feel confident this administration will respond with all appropriate vigor if we’re confronted by a virus.

Manly, godly vigor, sirrah!

Especially those skin infections that came on a few days after bathing in sewage.

The best thing for pesky infections, acne and other skin conditions is imbibing or massaging in the holy nectar - Shivambu!.

Mix is with a bit of Ivermectin and it helps it go down smoother. Yum!

If a “bit” of ivermectin fails to help, it means you didn’t use enough. Take at least the dosage recommended to kill parasites in a full-grown Percheron horse.

Im struggling with how trump and rfk & the rest profit financially from all this. Somehow they’re making gobs of money to destroy the USA’s health and science infrastructure. But how?

He’s trying to satisfy the lunatic base that booed Trump for helping expedite Covid vaccine development.

It might also give them a fig leaf to extort drug companies somehow.

RFK Jr. has made lots of money through involvement in vaccine litigation. Add in book sales, big paychecks from Children’s Health Defense (HHS Sec. pays pretty well) and the promise of even larger future fees for speaking engagements, and Junior has done well for himself.

Trump’s role in degrading American health care seems more designed to get revenge on his enemies, stockpile political capital and wreak attention-getting chaos than to make money. But it wouldn’t be surprising if he thinks there’s money to be made as a result.
