There’s been plenty of evidence RFK Jr. was heading for the brink, what with episodes like his comparing vaccination to the Holocaust and then hobnobbing with pro-QAnon extremists in Germany (a group that, ironically, includes Holocaust deniers).
Now he appears to be fantasizing a final solution. From a statement on the home page of AutismOne, a conference that specializes in attacks on vaccination and crank autism cures:.
"We are in the last battle. This is the apocalypse. We are fighting for the salvation of humanity. We all knew this was coming at some point. I never believed it would come in my lifetime, but here it is…
"We have to fight, and we have to die with our boots on if necessary. Everybody here, I’m confident, knows what their duty is and is going to do that duty, and I’m going to be beside you when you do it.
Appeals like this and similar rhetoric, like when prominent antivaxer Del Bigtree called on followers to exercise their Second Amendment rights to get their way, increase the danger that the more unhinged AVers will go beyond death threats and attempts to forcibly break up Covid-19 vaccination drives and violently target prominent pro-immunization advocates.*
I hope I’m wrong.
*RFK Jr. has claimed that Anthony Fauci “poisoned an entire generation of Americans”.
I’ve known that RFK, Jr. is dishonest ever since his Deadly Immunity article that was published in Rolling Stone and Salon in 2005. I’ve even thought he was delusional. Until now, though, I didn’t think he was batshit crazy.
There could have been more said about antivaxers’ attempts to exploit minorities’ fears in other settings (i.e. Samoa, where RFK Jr. went to try to sabotage a vaccination campaign in the midst of a measles outbreak, and New York City, home to poorly vaccinated, vulnerable members of some Orthodox Jewish sects). Andrew Wakefield had some success convincing Somali immigrants in Minnesota not to have their kids vaccinated with the MMR, helping increase suffering there.
More on antivaxers’ sleazy attempts to stoke suspicion and fear of vaccines in minority communities:
Again, my main concern at this point is that RFK Jr.'s increasingly unhinged and violent rhetoric will lead to more serious violence than we’ve already seen.
Not his words or ideas, of course. He’s an idiot. And he correctly thinks the poor and non-white will bare the brunt.
But maybe we should do away with vaccines altogether.
You see, this is God trying to thin the herd. And we need thinning. We are too many, using too many resources, creating too much garbage, destroying the environment. We need population reduction and we need it in a hurry.
THANOS 2024!!!
