Could Rules Updates Be Indicated In Rules Thread Titles or With A New Post

In Rules stickies where the rules are just one post (e.g the Games Room) could any mod who makes a change to the rules edit the thread title, perhaps, to indicate that they’ve changed this? Or better yet, make a short info post to the thread indicating they’d edited the main post (as e.g. the GQ rules sticky, where “Wombat” posted to indicate he’d re-ordered the sticky in 2010 (but note that Ed Zotti’s subsequent 2014 re-ordering there bears no such notice)

The reason for this is that the thread listing just indicates when the last post was made, not the last edit - So the Games Room rules sticky " *** Forum rules and FAQ: Read this first! ***" says the last post was by fluiddruid on 02-21-2008 12:22 AM , but actually opening it tells me:
“Last edited by Idle Thoughts; 10-03-2014 at 10:02 PM… Reason: Updates!”
and similarly the GQ one only indicates the G"W"R post as the last one - I have no idea if it was edited between Wombat and Zotti.

If I hadn’t been reading the ATMB thread about the Games Room (say, I only hung out in the GR), I wouldn’t know the rules had been updated. I generally do give the stickies a quick glance when I open a forum, and this would help convey that something has changed. I understand this isn’t really needed if e.g. the order of points is just rearranged, but other rules changes should be noted, I think.

I would think making a note of the change(and what it was) in a new post would be considered good form. I’m slightly surprised that it isn’t already the case.

I’ll update the thread title, thanks for pointing it out, I didn’t even think of it.

No problemo - thanks.
