Could this be bad news?

hh and Ice’s second post may be right. If you’re not getting paid for overtime, which is ususally the point of being exempt, you’re now getting just the (40)x(new pay), $41828.80 according to your calculations. That’s more than the old 37,816.48, but you’re a bit closer to a bad deal. As long as you work less than 377 hours of overtime (7.25 hr/wk), you got a raise.

If I work 45 hours in a week, I will still be paid for 45 hours. All 45 will be paid at regular time, not 5 hours at time and a half.
I asked about that one.

So you are making out like a bandit. I suggest a black eye mask the next time you go into work.

Seriously dude, You should wear a white & black striped shirt to work.

I wish I had that deal.

Grats.

Could it be that your employer is just rewarding you for doing a great job at work?

Or maybe they’re afraid you’ll be leaving soon? Have you received any other job offers lately? Or talked about leaving the company? Or moving? (like, say, to Boston?)

Well, they know that’s in my plans.

spooje, it’s about time something went your way! Enjoy it!
