Could you maybe have a debate WITHOUT the jargon?

Soon, the intentionally unclear thread will start.

Start? What you mean, start?

Or just skip over Libertarian’s posts.

Crap boobs crap.

Note to self: Do not solicit fashion tips from andros.

Kwyjibo THIS! Am I to take that as a argumentum ad hominem?

You must respect us Kwyjibo’s!

I’m a Kwyjibo Mk. II in disguise.

Or $10 American.

You know, I wasn’t sure whether to post or not. Then I was going to add “maybe you’re sarcastic.” But you were so damn convincing.

I fear the Kwyjibos even when they bear misused apostrophes!

An’d s’o you sh’ould’!!!

That last statement makes me think of a lyric: " Conversation is masterbation without the mess."- Our Lady Peace

Unfortunately, I have to concure that some posters do seem to be engaging solely in verbal masterbation. The problem, as I see it, is not so much their use of language (with a couple of notable exceptions) but that many people post OPs on obsure subjects with no context whatsoever, assuming that you’ll know what they’re talking about.

Now, were I to ask people if they thought that Llewelyn ab Gruffydd and Simon de Montfort were justified in their attempts to over-thow English rule, or if they were merely traitors, it would behoove me to at least mention that this is pertaining to the gradual English take over of Wales; that Llewelyn was the last Welsh born ruler of Wales (or at least a significant portion of it); that his and de Montfort’s conflict was with Henry III and Edward I, and maybe even add that it was in the 13th century. Those facts would at least give debators some context on the thing I wished to debate. You see, though I am familiar with the history, and could add many more facts to my argument (perhaps going back as far as ~1140 when the elder Llewelyn, Llewelyn Fawr, first began to lose control of Wales as an autonomous “country”, though it was never really that unified; or perhaps go even farther back to ~1050 when Maude and Stephen of England first set their sights on Wales) I realize that the subject is somewhat obscure, and it would not be reasonable to expect many people to have a through understanding of it without at least giving them a clue as to what they’d need to look up to get “up to speed.”

[ rant ]Why the fuck can’t people spell the following words correctly?

masturbation
separate[/rant]

There you go, Jeff, indulging in punctilious orthographic orthodoxy in direct defiance of the OP’s plea.

More beer…need more beer…
