So name me one country in the world that uses Deuteronomy as the basis for punishments in their legal system? Since there doesn’t seem to be any how about keeping your irrelevant contribution to your self.
If you disavow yourself of the irrational political sensibilities of modern liberalism, you will see with unerring clarity that it is an Abrahamic religion not named “Christianity” or “Judaism.”
See OP for cite.
Is it even possible for you to not show how stupid you, in fact, are? What did you do, read just every other word in my posts?
Hell. I knew a woman in a Christian religion whose husband beat her so bad he put her in the hospital. Representatives from the church came to the hospital and told her not to press charges, as it was her fault for being “a bad wife.”
She filed charges, left her husband, and got disfellowshipped.
Good point, well said.
On the one hand, gesturing towards religion doesn’t excuse these attitudes and practices—they aren’t OK regardless of whether or not some established religion (or its powerful leaders or its vocal supporters) say this is how it should be.
On the other hand, these attitudes are not a product of any established religion, but instead are older (at least as old as our species’ history as agrarian societies with permanent dwelling places), which also doesn’t excuse those attitudes and practices but should put the relationship of established religions (and other conservative, slow-changing social institutions) and this set of attitudes into proper order: these are not Islamic attitudes, nor are they Christian attitudes, nor are they even religious attitudes, but rather they are patriarchal attitudes; they are reflected in slow-changing conservative social institutions because those institutions arose in a patriarchal environment, and persist there because these ancient institutions are resistant to change and because their authority and the justification for it are all tied up in patriarchal priorities and beliefs about personal freedom versus social control.
I hope they said Tuesdays. Tuesdays really work best for me.
Note that the Pakistani legal system isn’t actually using these “Islamic Ideology” recommendations as the basis for punishments. This is a bunch of non-legislators proposing harsh legal penalties based on religious justification.
And if we’re talking about bunches of non-legislators proposing harsh legal penalties based on religious justification, there are plenty of those in Christianity as well. Avowed Christian major presidential candidate Ted Cruz even attended a political rally hosted by a well-known Christian pastor who publicly advocates the biblical penalty of capital punishment for homosexuals, for instance. Uganda passed a Christian-promoted anti-homosexuality law whose original version actually included the death penalty, and similar legislation is under consideration in Kenya.
This stuff is part of standard political ideology for a numerous and influential minority of extreme-right Christians (and extreme-right Jews too, for that matter), so you can’t just pretend it’s only Muslims who have repressive theocrats trying to legislate barbaric ancient penal codes in the modern day. It’s simply that the Muslim repressive theocrats happen to be more politically powerful nowadays than their Christian and Jewish counterparts.
Realizing that you are (1) dumber than dirt, (2) a complete jackass, and (3) an ignorant and cowardly jerk, I till think it’s worthwhile to bring your brain dead attention (such as it might be) to this article about a lawmaker in the US reading from the Bible during a political meeting.
And then the Christians issued jihad against her for apostasy and stoned her to death.
then publish atomic bomb american word salad kkk attack word salad
Not really. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh have a lot in common with the neighboring parts of India. On issues pertaining to women, northeastern India (Bengal, most specifically, but also the tribal states) are better than the north-centre and north-west. You can see that by looking at, e.g., the gender ratio which is indicative of how much selective abortion of girl children they do.
For anyone who doesn’t read gibberish this translates to “Death to Infidels!”
:dubious:
World gender ratio: 1.07
India gender ratio: 1.12
Bangladesh gender ratio: 1.043
Pakistan gender ratio:1.05
For comparison; United States and UK are both at 1.05
Uh, I didn’t suggest otherwise. Pakistan and Bangladesh don’t seem to practice selective abortion of girls (this might have to do with Muslim disapproval of abortion, or not, not really sure). The point I’m making is that differences between Pakistan and Bangladesh probably have more to do with ethnicity than with either one having more in common with ‘Hindu India’. Bangladesh is (obviously) majority Bengali, Pakistan is plurality Punjabi (and some other ethnicities that aren’t much represented in India). Within India, Punjabis do a lot more sex selective abortion than Bengalis (and are also, anecdotally, worse in terms of harassment, rape, general women’s status issues), which is an indication that Punjabi culture is worse for women in general than Bengali.
Reminds me of a bad joke:
What to you tell a woman with two black eyes?
Nothing. You told her twice already.
It was intentionally gibberish to point out your own gibberish. Maybe not the easiest to decipher, but pretty obvious in context.
But thanks for revealing your racism by accusing Ramira of being a terrorist for responding to you.
I have no idea what ethnicity Ramira identifies as. Don’t care either.
Annie-Xmas made a false equivocation. In her anecdote, which I assume is true, a friend of hers parted ways with a Christian congregation after they tried to talk her into not pressing charges against an abusive husband. She really didn’t go into much further detail but the point was “pretty obvious in context.” In case you can’t decipher (it may not be the easiest) her point was that Christians are equally as insufferable as Muslims in terms of their attitudes towards women.
The penalty for Annie’s friend not pressing charges was that she was ejected from their stupid little club. Why would you want to be friends with people like that anyway? I assume Annie’s friend wouldn’t want to be associated with such people and their parting of ways, while perhaps not amicable was most likely mutual. End of story. Or, at least as far as I know because Annie did not go into much detail. If Annie’s friend has subsequently been murdered by the Christian group I would think that she would have mentioned that - not really a small detail.
In the Islamic world, when surveyed, an overwhelming majority of Muslims support the death penalty for apostasy.
This is easy to find. A quick search lead me to that.
I made this point with, admittedly, rather dark humor. It may be hard to follow.
Ramira responded by blithering about kkk and atomic weapons and amurica durrr. I don’t identify as a democrat and therefore have no inclination towards the kkk. Call me a racist, well screw you - you’re a terrorist. Punch back.
Is Ramira a terrorist? I doubt it. A globalist. brobably
America great opposition party evil, KKK atomic bomb misusing terms, random comment idiot racist…
(I responded mocking your incoherent word salad where you string together words you do not actually understand(*), in a string of religious bigotry)
Globalist?
Inventing words is funny.
Even it is funnier, thinking it is insulting.
(* the use of the word issue was very funny in its demonstration of the illiteracy)
And then some doofus walked into a thread about religion and wife beating and started blathering “yeah, but the *other kind *is WORSE!”
AK84, sorry, forgot to say thank you.
Glad to hear that.
