Countdown to colonoscopy!

Looks like things will be looking up soon and this will all be behind you. Good luck.

Off to the hospital. Won’t be back on-line till tomorrow.

If I live.

Well, the actual procedure itself was quite nondedescript. He did remove a few polyps for biopsy though.

I can eat again! (And have a few beers!)

So, up in the middle of the night last night to poo and was surprised to see that the toilet bowl was RED when I was finished. Like completely dark red.

I just had another small loose BM and although it started out normal, there was red at the end and red toilet paper wipes. I think it’s getting better, but this is weird considering I was fine Friday at work with a couple of normal poops.

If it doesn’t get better I guess I should hit the emergency department?

You went to work after? Was your Dr cool with that?

I’m also impressed you had two poops at work, so soon after a complete emptying!

Clearly you are made of sturdy stuff. You can always call TeleHealth and talk to a nurse for advice. They’re pretty good and the waits never as long as they predict.
Good Luck!

I forgot all about telehealth! Thanks.

And, yeah I had a good meal Friday night. What can I say?

Holy Shit, Leaffan, I’d have issued an immediate Red Alert right there. (<d&r>)

Was it “no drugs whatsoever”? I thought they used a local anesthetic in that situation, rather than something that knocks you out (or at least makes you think that you get knocked out - supposedly, you’re still awake, but when I had it, I was out for an hour).

And I was one of the people in the “it’s almost impossible to find someone to take me there, wait, and then take me home camp” - I had to put mine off for almost a year (and had the doctor send me the “at-home stool sample kit”) because the one day the only person that could drive me could do it ended up being during a school break and he had to stay home to watch his kids while his wife worked.

How were the drugs, Leaffan?

Looking back on it I might have missed about 10 minutes of time, but I do recall seeing the video screen and the doctor pointing out some polyps to me. I thought I was aware the whole time, but in retrospect I have some gaps I can’t fill.

In other news, I seem to be pooping sans blood now. Still keeping an eye on it all.

And how about farther up inside? How did it feel there?

OK. That was LOL worthy!

Leaffan did you request a copy of the video as suggested by johnpost early in the thread? I don’t know if I will. I mean, why? Or was that a joke? Sometimes I can be a slow Bullitt.

I’ve been getting ready for my turn - one week ago I started early prep, easy really, of no aspirin or popcorn or seeds. Today it’s a completely liquid diet, tonight I start the laxative and remaining close to the toilet, and then tomorrow morning (Friday) it’s time to stick it where the sun don’t shine.

I’m taking the day off of work tomorrow, of course, and I guess I’ll be a couch potato for a while.

Anyone got any movie rental suggestions?

Good luck Bullitt.

No, I don’t have a video. I’m not even sure it was recorded.

I hated not eating for 48 hours. It’s obviously doable, but really uncomfortable.

Thanks man. And how are you doing after all is said and done? Hopefully still sans blood, and polyp- (and any other anomaly) free. And eyeglasses found!?

Chevy Chase: "Are you using the whole fist, doc?” LOL, I just had to share that.

Blood free. Waiting to hear about the polyp biopsy.

Still haven’t found my damned glasses!

Just wanted to say that, having been through it twice, whenever I see this thread title I think “five million, nine-hundred ninety-nine thousand, nine-hundred and ninety nine… five million…”

All-liquid diet for today. Wasn’t too bad, but it sucked being hungry all day. Jello helped, but it couldn’t be red Jello.

At 6pm it was the gag-me prep. MoviPrep is what it’s called, and it was palatable, barely. I mixed in dried Gatorade mix which helped. Mango sorbet for dessert, and that’s about as good as it got.

The second and last dose of MoviPrep will be at 0500 tomorrow morning. Then, 0845 check in at the doc’s office, and then I should be all done @2100.

Cheers.

So you got to ride the silver stallion.

I recall sitting on the thrown shitting through the eye of a needle drinking more stuff to make me poop. Best part is you don’t have to do it again for five years.
