Yeah. He has the dilemma of a total narcissist nearing the end of his life; all he cares about it himself, but he just doesn’t have the time left to do what he wants.
He’s just also delusional enough to mostly ignore that and act as if he’ll be around for decades. Even if he was competent enough to do so, which he isn’t, he just doesn’t have the time to build some Trump World Empire.

I’m still of the opinion that Everything Trump knows about global military strategy he learned from playing Risk one time. Having the US and Alaska already, he still needs Canada, Mexico and most importantly Greenland to get his 5 armies a turn. If he gets Venezuela that’s a quarter of the way to picking up South America, that’s also why he so fixated in installing Trump lovers in Argentina, and Brazil. If he succeeds in Venezuela expect invasion plans for Peru next.

Yeah, Trump is the kind of man who gets an impression of how something is from some almost-random source, then treats his first impression as absolute truth for the rest of his life while actively refusing to actually learn how things work.

We (well, not me personally, but you know what I mean) have just committed an act of war on a sovereign nation. This cannot be allowed to be swept under the rug, or glossed over as within the President’s powers, or some other bullshit. At a minimum, Trump, Hegseth, and probably Marco Rubio need to be impeached and barred from future office. In a better world than this one, some subset of them should face criminal penalties as well, but I’m not holding my breath.
Seems to me that Venezuela is well within its rights to attack any and all US warships anywhere near their territory. I am assuming they won’t, due to the disparity in military capabilities, but Trump and his lackeys have just put a lot of Americans at unneccessary risk.
I thought the ability to be absolutely, insanely furious at these fuckwits had been burned out of me, but apparently not. I guess that’s a good thing? I’d rather not have found out.

Reports are that U.S. special forces have captured Maduro and his wife. They are being taken to the U.S. to stand trial.
FOR WHAT???!! Not even Trump has accused Maduro of any crimes, other than being a bad President. And if that was a crime, Canadian forces should’ve dragged Trump out of the White House long ago.
