1.6 will be released anyday now … but ic an not find anythign other then the new weapons about this patch.
I have heard that HS will be harder and that cheating will be harder. But i can not see how this is possible.
I am just sick to death of the cheaters… is Natural Selection a viable alternative ?? (no cheats)

You’ll find the skill players on the top server(beatdown) incredible, but trust me. They’re not cheating. The 2nd server is where I mainly play(since I got back to playing… yesterday)
The admins at these places are dedicated to anti-cheats. It is EXTREMELY difficult to cheat on their server. Wall hack/aim bot will not work on their servers PERIOD. No recoil is possible, but scripts generally take care of it. For the most part you’ll find it cheat free, albeit highly skilled.
Be prepared for a beatdown. =)

No. I quit at the end of 1.3 and I started playing cs again yesterday. So I barely even know 1.5.

By a Deagle on pistol round ( i prefer to invest in a HE or Kevlar) everyone else will buy a deagle … just wait for someone to die

apart from that … no real changes - p90 is worthless as is everything else… SIG is pretty cool but thats about it.
I love the p90! enough bullets to kill 3 people in close quarters. 2-3 bullets in the head and they’re GONE!.
I’ve noticed the pump shotty is mucho improved in 1.5 relative to the new ak and the new colt anyway. Unfortunately it’s still a weapon you should only use as a support. Last man alive? drop that thing and grab a colt.
Anyway, I no longer play competition so it doesn’t matter. I just like to have fun. I used to play as “pistol wonder” and use nothing but the 5-7 or the dualies and whatever I picked up.
Totally fun.

I have a CS question. What the devil is Counter Strike: Source? I know Condition Zero, I know 1.6, but Source? Someone please elaborate.
Source is the newest version of Counter-Strike. They went from 1.6 to Source. Supposedly, the physics engine is rewritten and more accurate (subject to much debate). The biggest difference is you can move certain objects such as a couch.
Most significantly, Counter-Strike 1.6 is a mod for the original Half Life, whereas CS: Source runs on Half Life 2.
Yes, CS: Source is fully moved over to the Source engine. This provides much better graphics, effects and actual physics in the game.
There have been several Cafe Society threads on this; in fact I believe we had an SDMB CS:Source server up and running at one time courtesy of Senor Beef. There were quite a few Dopers who dropped in and played with the clan tag [SDMB].
I haven’t played in months and I don’t even know if the server is still going. It WAS a lot of fun while I was doing it!
Which has a larger player base? Has the majority moved on to Source?
Yes. There are still some servers supporting CS, but not nearly as many as are hosting CS:S.
