One Tin Soldier. The story of Coven performing this for the movie Billy Jack is an interesting one.
As an April Fools joke after Janet Jackson’s “Wardrobe Malfunction”, one local radio station claimed that the FCC forced edits on their music. They played Tracy Chapman’s “Talkin’ 'Bout a Revolution”, but beeped out the word “Revolution” every time she sang it.
My other favorite was when they played Warren Zevon’s “Lawyers, Guns, and Money”, they played the third verse. “Send lawyers, guns and money, the”, then the music stopped, a pause, someone said “number 2” then the music started back up “has hit the fan!” The comedic timing of it was perfect!
That is one of the ones I thought of originally.
“War Pigs” has already mentioned (dammit!), but it’s definitely one of my favorites. However, how could anyyone forget:
