My eldest has now had his fourth negative test. His employer does mandatory tests monthly. For the statistics reported at various test summary sites, is he getting counted once each time? Is he accounting for 4 tests in my county / state?
Presumably, each time he is tested, that increases the cumulative number of tests reported as being carried out in the county/state concerned. Why wouldn’t it?
They may publish a separate figure for the total number of people ever tested, in which case a retest should not increase that figure. But the total number of people ever tested is not an especially useful figure and tracking it accurately is tricky, since the same person may be tested under two or more different programmes, administered by different agencies. So a lot of health authorities don’t bother compiling that figure.
