Cousteau's helicopters

D’ya ever have completely irrelevant questions pop into your head, and then you want answers to them? Today I wondered whatever happened to the Hughes helicopters that were used on Jacques Cousteau’s Calypso.

Hughes N9672F, s/n 910126, was exported to Russia, and its N-number cancelled in 2012.

Hugues N102CS, s/n 250398, was exported to Canada and its N-number was canceled in 1980.

Schweizer N6129E, s/n S1481, was exported to South Africa, and its N-number cancelled in 1996.

There’s no reason to think any of them are no longer flying, unless they crashed. How are they being used today? Working aircraft? Pleasure aircraft? Museum pieces? Do the owners care that these were three of the helicopters used on Calypso?

I don’t know but Bill Murray’s helicopter from Life Aquatic, which is kind of an homage/parody of Cousteau, is sitting on the back lot of Disney’s Hollywood Studios amusement park in Florida.

Actually, I don’t know if it’s a real helicopter or a prop, but it was cool to see.
