Sounds a lot better than the Howling Yam has managed.
‘Howling Yam’. That’s funny, right there!
Do we have collective amnesia as to how the press treated Hillary? They weren’t exactly fawning of her.
I expect she’d be fighting against multiple consecutive impeachment inquiries. That would be a drag on effectiveness.
She probably wouldn’t have delayed response to give her cronies time to finish their insider trading.
I live in the Kansas City media market, and there is a similar difference in the press conferences of KS Gov. Laura Kelly (D) and MO Gov. Mike Parson (R). Kelly sounds professional, Parson sounds like a second grader reading from his “Dick and Jane” book. And Parson always seems about two or three steps behind Kelly in terms of actions taken to stop the spread of the virus.
On the other hand, just think how much more fucked Missouri would be right now if Eric Greitens (remember him?) was still in charge.
She would have retained the pandemic experts and wouldn’t be trying to dismantle the CDC, either.
She’d certainly be trying to respond better than Trump. But she’d be pretty distracted by the fifteenth successive impeachment trial that the Senate was holding against her, using charges brought by Speaker of the House/Freedom Caucus head Mark Meadows. The senate wouldn’t be meeting except to call QAnon witnesses in the trial, and McConnell would have declared preemptively that no aid package she supported would receive a vote.
Because she’s too smart for that or doesn’t have any cronies?
Does this counterfactual take into consideration damage done having gone thru the Harvey Weinstein scandal?
Did the Republicans talk (and more) impeachment since the day she was elected? Prob not as much but they certainly would have been damaged alot more by a failed effort. ABCNNBCBS you know.
I think it would have gone about as well as the median European country instead of about as well as the worst European country.
Did HIV shut down the whole bloody planet?
Not to in any way play down the absolute disaster it has been.
Kindly point out the specific ways in which the Trump administration has shown leadership and competence in handling this crisis. What did Trump accomplish that HRC could/would not have under the same circumstances?
Thank you in advance for your considered responses.
There’s no doubt in my mind that Hillary’s response would have been more competent. That’s sort of a sine qua non of being compared to Trump’s response, isn’t it?
Where it would have fallen down is response to he efforts. Mostly we’ve gone about our business of self-isolating and moving on with our lives under the current crisis. Yes, there’s idiot kids out there on the beaches and some other spots, but mostly it’s been done fairly cheerfully and without a lot of fuss.
If Hillary were in charge, though, everything she did would be pushed back against and we’d see people intentionally violating such advice or orders just because it was her administration giving the advice. One would think saving one’s life would be a priority over partisanship. Sadly, I believe I would be disappointed in that thought. People would intentionally risk their own and other’s lives just to frustrate her plans.
And, as stated above, Fox and others would have a field day - and ratings bonanza - arguing against her and spreading conspiracy theories about the virus and her response to it. They would also get people killed.
… which isn’t really all that different from their actions of the past few months, tbh, JC.
HRC watched the people die in Benghazi and did nothing. Trump responded to attacks on US assets in Iraq with a show of force and then took out the main figure who coordinated the effort.
Thats not true at all.
South Korea is handling this well.
Clinton wouldn’t have disbanded or defunded pandemic organizations. She also wouldn’t have ignored the issues for months, telling people it was a republican hoax.
Is this the line Trump supporters will be using, it would’ve been just as bad?
Dude, seriously with the BENGHAZI!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:
What was she supposed to do? She was SecSt. SHE WAS NOT IN THE CHAIN OF COMMAND TO ORDER MILITARY ACTION
Every [del]witch hunt[/del] investigation cleared her.
Pretty sure Obama took out the main figure who coordinated 9/11.
where’s the praise for him?
“The Secretary of State watched the people die in Benghazi and did nothing. The President responded to attacks on US assets in Iraq with a show of force and then took out the main figure who coordinated the effort.”
You know, for contexts sake.
