Global Citizen announces One World: Together At Home benefit | CNN

SARS-STOCK II!!!

Doubt the lineup will be as good

Going to be on at 8 PM EDT don’t know the length but I read multi hour so probably 2 or 3 hours.

I would have gone with Covipalooza but okay.

Don’t see Fox listed as a network . They did a music benefit special a few weeks ago, it was only on Fox.

Coronaid…for the failing beer company.

There are three reasons to avoid it right there.

OK, then, go ahead and avoid it. You don’t need to tell everyone that you’re avoiding it.

3 hosts seems like overkill , I would rather see only music.

Hey, it gives them something to do.

You don’t like CBS, ABC, OR NBC??
mmm

The show is on tonight at 8 eastern time

Concert has started on Youtube with lesser known artists

Oh man, this is up against another Jorma Kaukonen live stream performance. This will be his third one in 3 weeks. If you can record the one on TV, Jorma’s is on Youtube, Fur Peace Ranch channel. It’s best to watch that one live, as he and his wife respond to comments from the peanut gallery.

The reason that there are three hosts is that the networks probably only agreed to this if the host of their main talk show was one of the hosts of this show.

So did anybody else actually watch this?

Aging pop star report: Mick Jagger can still sing. So can Stevie Wonder. Elton John didn’t seem quite right. Paul McCartney, I’m not sure about: the decision to perform a lounge-singer version of “Lady Madonna” was an… interesting choice.

There were some other singers who aren’t my personal cup of tea, but who can really sing. And then there was Billie Eilish, who apparently can’t sing without a microphone.

I watched. Lady Gaga was pretty good. Stevie Wonder and McCartney should have performed Ebony & Ivory. It’s certainly a topical song and fits the One World concept.

I wanted to see the Stones do a couple more songs. It was cool seeing Mick play guitar.

Elton got a piano. He didn’t have one at his home a few days ago on an earlier Virtual at home special. Elton hosted and let others sing. I hope the piano movers wore masks. LOL

Overall it was an uplifting 2 hours and honored the world’s health workers.

I was really disappointed with Sir Elton… I’m Still Standing doesn’t even seem like a song that should be stressing out his vocal cords! But at least he manged to set things up so he could use one of his actual pianos, this time.

And, yeah…Sir Paul’s song was weird. I’ve seen fairly recent recordings of him, and he’s not showing his age near as much as Elton (though he’s not kept his instrument as well tuned as Mick, who still sounds almost like he did 50 years ago), but that arrangement doesn’t do him any justice at all.

Unsurprisingly a good bit of overlap with the other livingroom concert mentioned above - Elton John, Billy Joe Armstrong (but not his dog, sadly), Lady Gaga…pretty sure Lizzo was in the other one, too.

(Does John Legend have some sort of facial paralysis? I don’t think I’ve ever seen any part of his face above his lips move.)

I wonder how the Stones got their individual performances to synch up. Everything I’ve read indicates there isn’t really any software that does a good job of that.
