Ford Motor Company wants to open their production lines back up April 6th
Fine with me, but what if someone gets the virus while working at Ford or any company like Amazon, Walmart, Kroger, Fedex, UPS, Uber, law enforcement, doctors, nurses, to food delivery people.
I don’t think you’d have much of a lawsuit against your employer because you caught a contagious virus. (and suits against employers are generally precluded by workers comp system)
A firm in Vegas has filed suit against China. I don’t know enough to speculate whether the suit has merit or not.
That’s a whole lot of layers of hypothetical in that there post, but I find it unlikely someone could sue for anything other than their employer having insufficient measures in place to reduce contagion risk. And there is of course no way to prove where you contracted the virus, but you can present evidence that it was present in that workplace and that other social contacts you had were unlikely to have been the cause.
And there might of course not even be any avenues for a lawsuit anyway.
