Don’t sue Trump if you get sick at his rallies

Hopefully trump gets plenty of signatories.

He doesn’t want his own Trumpie Bros to sue him, but doesn’t care if they get sick or die!

The mind boggles to imagine how insipidly simple-minded these faithful Trumpie Bros must be.

Just more fuel for the election pyre.

Not a lawyer but I’ve heard those kind of documents don’t mean a lot in court. Maybe a lawyer will correct me.

You know they’re going to sign those things like it’s a badge of honor.

No worries. Just have big tubs of hydroxychloroquine at the entrance and have everyone take one as they come in. Maybe have them bend over and shove a bright light up their asses too. At long last, a GOP alternative to Obamacare!

I think it’s a certainty that some people are going to get sick from going to these rallies. Some will die. That’s sad. Even though the people that go to these rallies are reprehensible, many have families that would be devastated if they die. I hate to see these people suffer just because their loved one is dumb enough to go to a MAGA rallly.

Regardless of the waver, would it even be possible to sue a business or corporation if someone got CV19? It seems there would be some major hurdles to overcome:

  • Proving your infection was related to the corporation. People can get infected anywhere.
  • Proving you took appropriate precautions. Going to a large gathering without a mask seems like it could invalidate any claim due to the person’s own reckless behavior.

In a way, I think it would be better if businesses had this kind of approach like with the waver. Basically say: “We’re not taking any precautions. You are in charge of your own safety. You do whatever you need to do to be safe.” A lot of the precautions that business are doing seems like it’s giving people a false sense of security and lulling them into thinking that the environment is safe. If instead people thought of public environments as being toxic, they might take appropriate precautions for the risk.

I say, let them be! Smile and indulge them. They aren’t going to be swayed, so save your breath.

No matter how many signs there are, some people need to pee on the electric fence or touch the wet paint. It’s human nature.

It’s hard to watch, they could/will likely spread it to their family, church and community, which is heartbreaking. And people will likely die as a result.

But that is literally what it will take for them to understand. There is no other way to convince them, I think.

Let them be.

Hey, if they die, they die. At least they’ll get to watch an orange man gibbering like a stroke victim while playing an invisible concertina for two hours before meeting their maker.

If we’re gonna try the brute-force herd immunity route, I guess this is one of the least terrible ways to do it.

I thought CV was a hoax?

Think of it as evolution in action. Maybe they would qualify for Darwin awards.

Even if the waiver holds for the person that signed it, his (or her) heirs and relatives haven’t signed it and they could sue, couldn’t they?

Of course they could sue. The real question is, could they win?

This video didn’t seem to warrant it’s own thread, but it does provide a glimpse into the mindset of these rallygoers. It’s Jordan Klepper (of The Daily Show) interviewing various people - the hypocrisy and ridiculousness in some of their responses is jawdropping.

I love how Klepper is so quick on his feet. He runs circles around those idiots.

Irrelevant. The money is in the legal fees.

That only makes sense if it’s the billionaire suing the average Joe. Not the other way around.

and it is going to just go away :smack:

What’s the debate here?
