So I’m trying to sell this guy my old P4 1.6gHz processor and I know it’s socket 7, he has a Prescott ready machine, anyone know if this works? I don’t know enough, but I would assume not considering they’re different types of processors…
You’re mixing things up.
Prescott is a code name for a chipset, essentially the internal architechture of the processor.
Socket 7 refers to the manner in which the CPU attaches to the motherboard.
Prescott CPUs have a Socket T type connection. So you’re sorta SOL.
