Crap! I forgot to watch "Undeclared"!

EEEEUUUUUGGGAHHHhhh I knew this would happen! I’m not used to watching network TV because there is never anything to watch. I plum frigging forgot! Was it good? Did it have all the stuff that made Freaks and Geeks great (irreverent, scathing humor, casting so great you swore they knew the people you used to hang with, bitter and sweet but mostly bitter nostalgia)? Did my little cutie Seth Rogan have much airtime? Should I get emotionally invested in it before it gets cancelled?

You mean that came on tonight?

I love Freaks and Geeks and I just saw Undeclared and quite enjoyed it. More humor and less nostalgia but I could see the connections to Freaks and Geeks. Your little cutie Seth Rogan had a good amount of airtime and I would definetly recommend getting emotionally invested.

(Golly gee whiskers. I hope that was a good first post.)

You done good, sweetie. Thanks!

Yup, it was very reminiscent of Freaks and Geeks. Maybe since it’s on Fox, which picked up F&G after the idiots at NBC cancelled it, we might actually get to watch it for more than one season.

BTW, did anyone else spot (the I think uncredited) Jason Segel (Nick Andopolous) from F&G? (I didn’t; Mr. S. pointed him out.)

The poem from the RA was the moment. I can post it if anyone wants it.

Pretty funny stuff. I think it will end up being a great show.

My .02 cents

I enjoyed it. The main criticsm was the use of the main character’s dad. Trying too hard to create a Eugene Levy moment. Failed. I hope the dad stays out of the way. The dad kinda creeped me out anyway. His facial expressions reminded me of a mix between Max Headroom* and Jack Nicolson as the Joker.

  • The fact that I remember Max Headroom might be an indicator that I am too old to be watching this show.

A friend of mine (Tim Sharp) is the guy who plays the “You haven’t even picked a major yet?” guy. Weird to see him on there. I liked the show, but I think it need some time to evolve. I think the most dead on part, for college, was the conversations (and ensuing actions) the girl had with her boyfriend on the phone.

I’ve been a recipient of that “I just got to college” love. Then they always ask if they are a bad person afterwards. That’s comedy.

Never fear! Fox, hearing your call, will re-air the show.

I assume EST. Oddly, that will be aired AFTER Tuesday’s second episode.

Ah, wonderful! Thanks watsonwil!

I’d better write myself a note…
