Crappity-crap! Garage got broken into.

Thieves took my sweetass Cannondale F500. I really liked that thing. Got it from a friend who moved back to the USA and paid only $500 for it, a helmet and a Hugo Boss suit (don’t ask).

I have to say, the thief was at least polite. He could have done a lot of damage trashing the place…especially since he also took one of my double-edges fighting knives…could have tested it on the pram, my two golf bags (s/he left my clubs alone, yea!) and other stuff. A Very selective thief, actually. Opened boxes but didn’t take things of low-interest. New-ish Nike rollerblades? Nah. Said golf clubs? nope. Expensive climbing gear? uh-uh. [/stolkholm syndrome]

Methinks it was a transient or a teenager that lives nearby. Transient because it is obvious that only carry-able stuff was taken. My clubs or our pram could have fetched a ton of cash at a pawn shop. Teen because my box of old computer games was gone through thoroughly…none taken cuzz they were, well, very old.

The cops here are…interesting. And we just sorta have to go along. At the end of writing it all up the cop told us “So, in about 4 weeks we’ll send you a statement that we didn’t find anything.” Thanks guys!

Although, they could find something. I kept telling the cop that the bike was unique here. It was bought in USA and is bright yellow. I’ve never seen any other Cannondales here…so…maybe.

And yes, we have insurance. But, it still sucks having to deal with the problem.

Jerks.

You had your Cannondale stolen? Ouch.

I put that in the league of: “…Ohhh what I would have given to have caught them in the act…” I hope they find it.

Well, the cops did comment on the fighting sticks and the knife that was stolen “I guess it’s good that your husband didn’t catch them in the act.” To which Wifecat replied, “Yeah, but then you’d be arresting my husband for stabbing the guy.”

See, it’s a good thing you didn’t have a great big basket mounted on the handlebars.

Cannondale’s a really nice bike. I hope a recovery or the replacement comes your way soon.

Problem with a replacement is that it will now actually have economic value. Beforehand I had a sweetass Cannondale that I barely paid-for when taken as a whole with the HB suit.

Now I have to file a claim (hopefully it will go through) and get money back. It will take the full amount of the insurance to purchase a new bike (not Cannondale because they don’t sell them here…or they just are now…conflicting reports). But now I’ll actually own a bike that was paid for and will represent a ton of cash.

In the end I know it is the same, but still…Jerks.
