Crash - possible spoilers

I didn’t have any luck with a search on this title, maybe I’m doing it all wrong. Anyway, I saw the movie Crash last night. It was by no means a perfect movie, it had many flaws. But I can’t remember the last movie I’ve seen that has touched me and flooded me with such emotions. I sat in the car and wept for 10 minutes after I left the theater. I know a lot of people are gonna see this movie and not understand it. But I live close enough to LA and have had some ethnically
charged events happen recently, so it hit pretty close to home. The Hispanic locksmith was the spitting image of one of my first dialysis students, right down to the way he talked so tenderly to his daughter. And, of course, having just been in a car accident myself, I was terrified by the scene of the woman in the car, waiting to be cut out before the gas tank exploded. The other scene I have experienced personally is identifying a body in the morgue. So, yeah maybe it was a bit too much for me right now. But I would recommend it to people who can keep an open mind about ethnic differences in our country. It may backfire and just reinforce the notion that California is a place where everyone carries a gun and carjacking occurs on every corner. But if you look a little deeper, it has a strong message about life in general today. All of this IMHO, of course. YMMV.

I thought it was a great movie, easily the best 2005 release I’ve seen yet.

I recommend it to everybody, open or closed minded. Ya might not like it… but you oughtta give it a chance.
