Last night watched DVD of Crash and thought it excellent in a time when so may flics are just special effects, no plot and two-dimensional characters.
Humorous, sad, and quite a commentary on racial prejudice (by several races), and well rounded characters. Agree, or was I just in the proper mood for that time?
I wasn’t thrilled with it. I thought the plot was too contrived, and the characters WAY too racist to be believable. I just didn’t feel any sort of connection to the characters.
Am glad you agree. Interested to see you are from Schenectady, as we used to live in Altamont, before fleeing to AZ. Decided 40 yeas of shoveling snow was enough.
This was my thought, as well. It seemed like everything was so overemphasized that it was nothing more than a two hour caricature of America “the melting pot”. Ugh. Hated it.
