Creating map for printed flyer

I’m trying to make a map from Google Maps, Mapquest, or something else to put on a flyer. It will need to have directions and some labels of buildings.

I would have thought it was easy in Google Maps but it seems like it that it’s set up for online versions. Am I missing something obvious in creating a PDF or JPG for use in printed form?

Wouldn’t it be easier just to draw the info you need, leaving out extraneous detail?

Can you use a screen capture? It’s been a while, but I think I had to do that once.

Well, the screen capture sounds like the missing link. Before deciding on a service, I suggest also looking at ArcGIS online. Choose your preferred basemap at upper left. If you’re in a large city, building footprints may already be there.

If you want something really nice looking, that’s the sort of map I draw all day. PM me.

The ArcGIS site was perfect, I have the exact map I want. Printing doesn’t seem to work but it could be the settings here at work. I’ll try it from home and see if that works. Worst case I can just take a screen grab with what I have and it should work for my needs.

Thanks all
