Creative Loafing no more?

Forgive me if you’ve covered this already, but I couldn’t help but notice that all reference to Creative Loafing, Atlanta, etc, has disappeared from the bottom of the pages.

What’s it mean? Are we no longer associated with them? Did something change? Are we now affiliated with some other entity? Were we sold?

Anybody?

Yes.

The Chicago Reader and the Straight Dope are now part of the Sun-Times Media empire and is no longer affiliated with Creative Loafing.

Does this mean we can get Roger Ebert to start posting in Cafe Society?

Thanks, I figured as much!

I get a very “You should have known this” vibe from every answer in here.

We’ve been bought before without having to change our name. I don’t understand why anyone is supposed to have inferred that a sale would necessitate the name change.

Can you highlight where you’re getting that from? I don’t get such a vibe at all.

Finally, I can do my loafing in least imaginative manner possible.

Do the mods get new coffee mugs?

The day comes, I guess, when there will be nothing in between blog-it-yourself and Imperial Media.

Prepare for the Dope to disappear if it doesn’t meet eyeballs-per-dollars metrics geared to very large companies.

That would be a little sad, but it’s not like there aren’t other boards we could go to for pretty much the same experience.

Heresy! Burn the witch!!!
