Me and my friend Bruno were driving in Florence AZ when we came across this creature if you must. Long Story short…When we were driving in my car at 3:00 in the morning on the dark roads near the Prison and military base we saw something that we will never forget. We were casually driving when we saw this object in the road… thought nothing of it… until it rose up. It was around 7 feet tall had a torso! and was grayish … It jumped up and flew up over my car almost hitting us. It has a wing span of about triple my car… We heard the wings flutter as it flew over us. (had the moon roof open). Me and him don’t care easily but that night we were pretty scared. We couldn’t stop thinking about it for a while! I just can picture it in my head every time it comes up… When we tell our friends they think that we were on drugs or are just exaggerating. But what we saw that night was unexplainable… It seemed to large to be any bird! I know that cranes can have a large wing span but we know what cranes look like and that wasn’t one… It wasn’t a damm Bird! We often go out there… Last weekend when we did I got this crazy weird feeling, I was screed. I am more afraid of that movie jeeper’s creeper now more than ever. But seriously? A stork or a pelican or some other large, but non-extraordinary bird, enlarged and distorted in the imagination and memory, by fear, surprise and possibly chemicals.

The OP also posted this story to a group called “I Like to Be Mysterious,” so I’m not expecting much in the way of answers.
I’d guess a buzzard/vulture, with the details a bit distorted by the circumstances (e.g., headlights at close range making it look grayer than it otherwise would). Such a bird might very well be surprised feasting on a roadkill rabbit or snake, which would itself go unnoticed amid the shock of the moment.
I once was surprised by one of these rounding a corner in my car in broad daylight in suburban Philadelphia. The wingspan is startlingly huge compared to the birds we usually see in these parts, and I might well have estimated the height at 7’ or more in the immediate shock of it all – “Aaaaaagh! Thunderbird!”
