Credit History question

Next month, Mrs. B and I are closing on a new house we had built. We’re jumping through hoops to get all the documents in order with the mortgage company.

About 2 months ago, we provided about a dozen documents. One of them was a letter explaining some alternate Social Security Numbers that came up under our names. Specifically, we were asked:

(# signs are mine, V and A are Mrs B and I.)

In answer to this request, we both wrote concise letters, stating, “I have never used an additional social security number.” (The one for my wife is actually my daughters, but the 418-one is a mystery. [It’s an Alabama SSN, BTW.])

Now, with closing 3 weeks away, we’re being asked for updated paystubs, federal tax return, bank statements, etc. But then, we’re being asked once again to justify the SSNs that come up under our names. Were our terse statements not enough, or is the agent just being lazy and asking for all the same stuff again?

When my wife pulls our credit, there is no mention of these alternate SSNs. The mortgage agent isn’t telling us where the 418 SSN reference is coming from. Is it something I should have investigated, to make sure someone isn’t using my name and alternate SSN for some nefarious reasons?
